Job Description

We have a 6-month contract-to-hire opening for a Software Developer with strong experience in AWS tools and services, API development, and Node.js microservices. The ideal candidate is a hands-on backend engineer with deep cloud expertise and the ability to build scalable, resilient services in a modern distributed architecture.
Experience with React, Terraform, Backstage, and Python is preferred but not required.
This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering and cloud-native application development.
Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend services and Node.js microservices, following best practices for reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Develop and integrate RESTful and event-driven APIs that connect internal and external systems.
Leverage AWS tools and services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch) to build cloud-native applications.
Implement infrastructure and application automation within AWS-based environments.
Contribute to CI/CD workflows, ensuring smooth deployment and integration of microservices and cloud components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects and frontend engineers, to support end-to-end solution delivery.
(Preferred) Support development efforts using React, infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, internal developer platforms like Backstage, and backend scripting or automation in Python.
