Post Payment Audit is rebuilding Walmart's audit processes, using automation and AI to eliminate reporting discrepancies and recover tens of millions. As corporate explorers, we dig deep into how the business operates to design smarter audits that protect Walmart bottom line and strengthen supplier relationships.
About Team: Post Payment Audit
Post Payment Audit is Walmart's enterprise-wide audit function focused on supplier agreements. As PPA Engineering, we safeguard Walmart's financial integrity by ensuring suppliers are held accountable to the terms of their agreements--whether formal contracts or informal commitments such as email correspondence. By auditing across the full scope of Walmart's operations, PPA identifies missed discounts, overpayments, and other financial discrepancies, driving billions of dollars in recoveries each year.
What you'll do:

• Explore Walmart's enterprise data ecosystems to identify opportunities for rebuilding audits.
• Perform research, EDA, and root cause analysis on data discrepancies to improve audit models.
• Transform data from warehouses and lakes into auditable models using SQL, Python, and dbt to surface missed recoveries.
• Lead end-to-end audit implementation--from discovery and requirements to build and support.
• Partner with business SMEs to validate rules, ensuring supplier accountability and accurate billing.

What you'll bring:

• Strong expertise in data modeling, SQL, Python, and dbt; experience with EDA, audit-focused data transformations, and maintaining ELT systems with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with AI/ML techniques and information extraction (OCR, email analytics, Document AI) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments, driving clarity and defining requirements when none exist.
• Skilled communicator who can quickly understand and breakdown complex business problems, collaborating across business, engineering, and audit teams to deliver solutions.
• Confident in serving as the "face" of audits, leading cross-functionally to ensure successful audit implementation.

Minimum Qualifications...
