Software Engineer - Chicago, IL

This is an exempt level position.
Position Summary:
We're looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer who's eager to work with modern cloud, data, and AI technologies that power our financial services platform. In this role, you'll help design and build secure, scalable applications and APIs that support reporting, compliance, client experience, and operational automation. You'll work in an Azure-first environment, collaborating with experienced engineers and data professionals to build next-generation systems that enable smarter and faster decisions across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain cloud-based applications and APIs using Azure and modern development frameworks.
• Build and support microservices and serverless components (Azure Functions, App Services, Logic Apps).
• Collaborate with data engineers to create and enhance data pipelines and domain data products.
• Contribute to the integration of AI and automation (e.g., OpenAI, Power Automate) into business workflows.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following modern software engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and collaborative design discussions.
• Help improve deployment reliability using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Support production systems through monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.

Core Technologies & Skills:

• Languages: C#, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript
• Frameworks: .NET 8+, FastAPI, or Node.js
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Azure App Services, Functions, API Management, Key Vault, Terraform or Bicep
• Data & Integration: Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse, SQL Server, Event Hubs
• Automation & AI: Azure OpenAI, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or Power Automate (exposure or interest a plus)
• DevOps & CI/CD: GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes (familiarity a plus)
• Observability: Application Insights, OpenTelemetry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1-4 years of professional software development experience.
• Exposure to financial services, data analytics, or enterprise platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with secure development practices and identity management (OAuth2, Azure Entra ID).
• Experience working in agile or DevOps environments.

• Analytical thinker with a focus on writing reliable, maintainable code.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00
