As a Software Engineer on the Headphone and Accessories team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing cutting-edge technologies for next-generation headphones and accessories. As part of a small team of specialized engineers, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative features for devices such as AirPods, which are highly regarded and widely used by millions of people worldwide. Your work will span across Connectivity, AIML, Audio Engineering, Computer Vision and other areas, allowing you to create very unique and impactful end-to-end features.
Description
Data Collection and Manipulation for Model Evaluation. Collect and process large datasets of audio signals from a variety of real world scenarios to evaluate and refine machine learning models. Develop and maintain the audio data pipeline, ensuring that the data is clean, properly annotated, and formatted for model testing and training. Make key decisions regarding model training and validation, ensuring feature quality and consistency to meet the demands of product requirements. Functional Testing of Audio Products. Test the functionality of AirPods' audio framework and features to identify bugs or usability issues with various features. Conducting experiments for the same. Perform manual testing on AirPods, evaluating the accuracy, responsiveness, and performance of the audio features. Follow up and help with understanding and fixing different issues. Plan, design, and run audio experiments to assess performance, usability, and audio fidelity under different conditions. The goal is to understand how audio features perform across diverse environments and use cases. Develop UI for Customer Feedback Collection. Build and maintain user interfaces (UIs) that collect feedback from customers regarding their experience with specific features or functions of AirPods. Create intuitive UIs that allow customers to provide direct feedback, which is crucial for future feature refinement. This feedback loop supports decision making in the model refinement and product improvement processes. Generating and Storing Metrics for Feature Usage. Track and store usage metrics related to AirPods features. Collect and analyze data related to feature usage (e.g., how often noise cancellation is used). Ensure that all data is securely stored and readily accessible for further analysis and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Laser focus on customer impact and product experience.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,300 and $181,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
