Software Engineer
This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

HPE Networking's 128 Technology is an advanced secure networking company on a mission to fix the Internet. The 128T Networking Platform natively provides network-based security, control and insight across data centers, wide-area networks and edge locations for enterprises, service providers, and cloud companies alike. The engineering team at 128 Technology is looking for a software engineer to develop highly scalable, distributed network applications. We are looking for an extremely motivated engineer, who is interested in building carrier-grade networking infrastructure, in a fast-paced cutting-edge environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Member of the highly dynamic and agile team with responsibilities including Cloud, Analytics, Monitoring and Plugins
• Design and implement solutions using open source technologies that can leverage the 128T extensibility feature
• Contribute towards improving the usability and extensibility of the 128T software
• Experience with software security features pertaining to network security
• Keen eye for software design patterns to create robust client libraries for the 128T plugin SDK
• Implement software recognizing and anticipating patterns in network traffic to send to SaaS infrastructure
• Develop infrastructure for mining network data
• Identify and improve the efficiency, scalability, operability of the product
• Work closely with all departments including Development, Product Management, Sales and Support to ensure timely delivery of quality software
• Participate in design and code reviews

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Typically 2-4 years' experience developing large-scale software systems, or Master's degree in related field
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Strong grasp of programming in Python. Should be able to design and write modular and highly performance application in Python
• High degree of competency working with multi-threaded development

BONUS POINTS:

• Working experience with GO and C++11-17
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S.-based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. USD Annual Salary: $90,400.00 - $208,500.00
