Synerfac is seeking a Software Documentation Specialist for our client in Charlottesville, VA. Our client is a medical manufacturer that deliver less-invasive, superior outcomes for surgeons and their patients.
The Software Documentation Specialist will adapt/create cyber security documentation for new products from multiple document sources and regulatory guidance. Supports the software validation process for medical devices. Translates software documentation from French to English with support of an AI translation tool.
Responsibilities:
- Translating technical or engineering documentation (software, flowcharts, technical manuals)
- Reviewing and editing machine-translated (AI-generated) documentation
- Working within regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals is a plus
- Creating cybersecurity documentation or working with secure systems (preferred but not required)
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of technical writing standards and ability to translate nuanced technical content
- Proficiency in tools such as:
1. AI translation platforms (e.g., DeepL, Google Translate API)
2. Document tools (Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, XML editors)
3. Diagram tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) for working with flowcharts
4. Familiarity with software development terminology, source code commenting, and cybersecurity frameworks
5. Strong organizational and editing skills to ensure clarity and consistency in translated and original documents
