Cognosante is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, create/implement, and maintain tests and test automation in support of product quality improvements across the development organization this includes building and maintaining Devops CI/CD pipelines. Candidates should have extensive experience with manual, black and transparent box testing, compressive understanding of open source tech stacks, cloud, hybrid and distributed computing systems in general. Also critical to this role is the ability to work with and in some cases test transactional databases, data warehousing and analytics in isolation from other constituent distributed components.

Key Responsibilities

• Define tests determined by story acceptance criteria (including functional, load and performance tests) and applicable project standards
• Create, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks and solutions
• Instruct QA Team members and other staff in test automation techniques and methods
• Assist release engineering in creating automated build verification and system integration test frameworks and tests
• Participate effectively in estimation, planning, cost-of-quality, and quality risk analysis
• Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents
• Participate in a DevOps culture, working closely with developers, other SDETs and systems architects to design, build and maintain DevSecTestOps CI/CD pipelines.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science/Information and telecommunications system management or related IT degree OR 6 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in real-time systems, internet applications, data processing systems, database systems or distributed cloud and hybrid systems in general
• Must be proficient with at least one of the following programming languages: Java, C#, Python.
• Familiarity with with transactional databases such as MySql, Oracle or MS SQL and proficient with the ISO/IEC (ANSI X3.135) standard SQL language (implementation or brand agnostic)
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in system architecture; DB and application design, architecture.
• Experience working with AWS Cloud Services stack and Amazon RDS
• Familiarity with AWS Identity and Access Management, Lamda and AWS Route 53
• Strong analytical capabilities to understand data sets to derive business conclusions while identifying anomalies based on business rules
• Experience or knowledge of Snowflake Data Warehousing platform
• Experience with Oracle and SQL to include programming experience developing stored procedures and functions
• Experience with unit-testing frameworks, mocking and code coverage frameworks such as PyTest, NUnit, MOQ, WireMock, DotCover
• Experience with JS unit-testing, mocking and code coverage frameworks such as Jest/Sinon.JS/Enzyme
• Experience with Selenium UI testing framework.
• Experience with the use of network analyzers such as Fiddler, Wireshark, Netmon or Microsoft Message Analyzer

Compensation

$93,942.70 - $150,308.31

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may will be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience.
