About the Team & Platform



Bumperactive is a print shop at its core, but behind the scenes we operate a large and growing technical platform. We currently support hundreds of active e-commerce stores, processing orders, inventory, fulfillment, and integrations continuously as the business scales.



Our systems didn't start in the cloud. We're actively refactoring and modernizing a legacy, self-managed infrastructure into a hybrid model that combines local services with cloud-native components. That means real work across:


alwayson services that run 24x7 ondemand workloads (background jobs, eventdriven processing, integrations) data pipelines and APIs that directly impact operations and revenue

This role is for engineers who want more than feature tickets. You'll help design, build, and evolve internal services, make architectural decisions, and understand how software interacts with real-world constraints like production reliability, cost, and operational complexity.



If you enjoy working close to the business, owning systems end to end, and building practical infrastructure that actually runs production, this role will give you that opportunity.

The Job:

Where: Austin, TX What you'll be doing: Building APIs, integrating with cloud services, and collaborating with the team. Your tech stack: Primarily TypeScript, Node.js/Deno, and some frontend applications. Big projects: Developing internal company services and refactoring existing systems. Teamwork: You'll be involved in code reviews and knowledge sharing.

What you need to bring:

At least 3 years of coding experience. Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js/Deno. Familiarity with at least one frontend framework. Solid understanding of SQL and database design. Experience with Docker. Proficiency with cloud platforms like Google Cloud or AWS. Understanding of asynchronous communication. Ability to design and build APIs. Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Bonus points if you have:

Experience with another strongly typed language (beyond JS/TS). Knowledge of serverless architecture. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of SOA patterns. Experience with ecommerce platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce). Familiarity with the PHP / Symfony stack. Familiarity with inventory management systems
