We're looking for a dedicated
Social Worker Supervisor
to lead our Adult Behavioral Health Program. This is an impactful leadership role where you'll oversee both the administrative and clinical operations that directly support clients, institutions, and the broader community.
The
Social Worker Supervisor
will oversee the delivery of crisis screening, intervention, and intensive case management services. The Crisis Services team provides 24/7/365 screening, intervention, and aftercare referrals for Wayne County adults referred by local police and community partners. The Intensive Case Management team delivers intensive case management and crisis intervention for adults at high risk of psychiatric readmission or repeated emergency service use, as well as those under court-ordered Assisted Outpatient Treatment or deemed Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.
The
Social Worker Supervisor
role is ideal for licensed professionals ready to step into a position where they can make a meaningful difference--while also guiding and supporting a team of behavioral health staff. As a key leader in the Adult Behavioral Health Program, you'll ensure quality service delivery and provide both clinical and administrative leadership to your team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all program operations, from administration to clinical services
Oversee the delivery of behavioral health services to clients and institutions in the community
Provide after-hours crisis coverage support as needed
Supervise, support, and develop program staff to maintain high standards of care
Ensure compliance with all professional, ethical, and regulatory requirements
Key Qualifications & Competencies:
Must meet the criteria for Qualified Mental Health Professional, including a Master's Degree in social work, psychology or counseling with an LMSW, LLP or LPC licensure from the State of Michigan.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience treating adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders is required. Specific experience working in a community mental health setting is preferred.
Must have at least one (1) year of experience working in a supervisory capacity.
Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire.
Candidates must possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. Upon hire, the application must be submitted for the Development Plan to MCBAP, with or without the required trainings, within 30 days of hire. Documentation of required trainings may be submitted with the Development Plan Application or within 90 days of hire.
Candidates for this position must demonstrate excellent clinical assessment, triage and crisis intervention skills, and the ability to handle crisis situations in a calm and professional manner.
Must demonstrate competency working collaboratively with clients, family members, agency staff and community partners.
Must have the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must have excellent organizational skills and demonstrate an attention to detail necessary to track, prepare and report data.
Additional requirements include a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of adults with mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders and their families.
