The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Aging and Disability Services Division is recruiting for a Social Worker 2 in the Quality Assurance unit. These positions may be filled in in Las Vegas or Carson City. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following programs: Adult Protective Services (APS), Office of Community Living (OCL), or Home and Community Based Care- Quality Assurance unit (HCBS-QA). Social Workers in the HCBS-QA conduct incident reviews, satisfaction surveys and case file reviews; Interpret state, local and federal policies and make program and policy recommendations based on data analysis; Assist in revising and maintaining procedures and manuals; Prepare reports, uphold meeting deadlines and support data analysis efforts; Assist in coordinating and delivering program training sessions; Investigate issues related to health and safety of recipients; Collaborate with external stakeholders and other state agencies; Interview providers and individuals receiving services to ensure quality and program improvement; Participate in work groups and perform duties as assigned. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work and one year of professional experience providing case management in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker I in Nevada State service; OR one year of experience as a Social Worker I in Nevada State service.


Special Requirements

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.


A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.


Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
