Social Media & Content Assistant (Part-Time) -
Are you a creative, cat-loving person with a knack for design + social media?
? We're looking for a
part-time Social Media & Content Assistant
to help us manage and grow our feline-focused online community. This role includes assisting with community management (responding to comments, DMs & mentions daily), content planning, scheduling posts, helping to create, curate & publish content for posts, and also writing captions. Also involves organizing and repurposing user-generated content from customers & brand ambassadors.
If you have an eye for aesthetics and enjoy (and
get) the value & mechanics of using social media to connect with community & niche interests, this is a great entry-level opportunity with a flexible, mostly remote schedule. At Made By Cleo, you'll have tons of beautiful, lovable content to work with and a diverse assortment of projects through which you'll be able to build a beautiful portfolio while gaining some real world job experience for either a marketing / social media / or creative career path.
Starts at $18/hr. Approximately 15-20 hour commitment weekly.
Prefer once-a-week onsite visit to help capture behind-the-scenes + product related content.
Day of week is flexible. You will report directly to the owner & creative director for this position.
Job Duties
Source, schedule, write and publish posts 3-5x a week across multiple social media platforms (currently Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads).
Reply to DMs, comments, @mentions, and tagged posts at least 1-2x per day on all platforms
Repost tagged stories w/ shop links (when applicable) + repost UGC content that honors & showcases our pet customers
Provide strategic insights and suggestions for growing our presence on Instagram & TikTok
Plan & manage the content calendar to fit our strategic goals and support scheduled launches & promotions.
Respond in a timely manner on a daily basis to all social media-based communications
Cultivate & manage our relationships with existing and future brand models, ambassadors & influencers
UGC management - flag, save & file all top tier customer photos in our Dropbox system for future use
Monthly reporting on channel analytics, performance & trends
Share community feedback & pet industry-related insights which may include -- product requests or suggestions, recurring questions or needs, competitor accounts to watch, possible partner accounts to collaborate with, content ideas, and trending topics.
Skills & Requirements
Must love cats
- this is at the top of our list for qualifying for this job. The only way to write captions that will convincingly sound like an extension of our brand's voice is to come from a perspective where you already understand the culture and share our passion, sense of humor & shared struggles...as a cat lover. This doesn't mean you have to sound cute and punny and use "meow" somehow in every sentence. It just means you need to already genuinely appreciate cats (and preferably have lived with one before).
Must have visual design instincts
to guide you when it comes to knowing how to capture & put together on-brand, visually effective content. This intuition will also be called upon when you're handling composition, layout, font & color decisions when posting composite work like stories, reels, & Tiktoks. Any background in photography, film, art/design (or advertising/creative track) is a plus.
Has a knack for writing captions
(and isn't sloppy about grammar & spelling). While nailing the visual content part is a higher priority for this position, if you're reasonably good at writing captions, we consider it a big plus.
Must be able to produce visual content & write captions, comments, DMs that feel like an extension of our brand's voice & aesthetic
-- we're looking for a strong communicator who can express themselves both visually and through written word with confidence, clarity, passion, beauty, sense of humor and intelligence - while fitting within the brand's already-established personality.
Proven ability to create & write for social media, specifically for Instagram & TikTok.
Please provide samples of previous social media or other relevant work for us to review, and if you haven't done this type of work professionally before, please be prepared to provide at least 2 mock sample posts for Made By Cleo featuring content that we can either provide or you are welcome to pull from our website or Instagram in order to demonstrate your skills.
Must be able to come in for a few hours at the office once a week (most weeks / schedule is flexible)
to capture photos & video content for posting on social media related to behind-the-scenes activity, which might include production & shipping process activities, product highlight reels, new release sneak peeks, etc.
Must have flexibility in regard to non-traditional work hours when it comes to handling social media communication needs that fall outside of regular business hours
(for example, weekends, evenings, holidays). We'll establish an agreed-upon schedule for periodic check-ins during these "after hours" periods so you're not in constant on-mode.
Be prepared to share your opinions, suggestions & feedback regularly.

What's In It For You?
$360 Per Week (i.e. $720 Paid Bi-Weekly via Direct Deposit) -- Based on 20 hrs / week @ $18 rate per hour
