Job Summary: As Sr. Manager of Order Fulfillment Engineering and Product Line Engineering, at ASM, you will lead two global teams: one of skilled Order Fulfillment Engineers, and the other Product Line Engineers. These teams are responsible for defining and maintaining product structure trees, and for understanding customer specifications and translating those into buildable orders. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the configuration process, from initial product structure definition, maintenance of BOMs, and release of Order BOMs to Global Operations so that they can efficiently and effectively execute their procurement and manufacturing strategies in an error-free manner. Your technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills will be crucial in driving excellence and execution within the team.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the Product Line Engineering (PLE) and Order Fulfillment Engineering (OFE) functions to ensure efficient and effective product structures and order fulfillment processes.
  • Coordinate with Global Product Management (GPM), New Product Manufacturing Engineering (NPME), and Manufacturing Engineering (ME) teams to ensure accurate and timely updates to the product structure tree and Order BOM.
  • Lead and guide the PLE team in defining and maintaining the product structure tree, adding/deleting options and features, handling non-standard requests, and managing BOM building blocks.
  • Collaborate with the PLE team to update the sales configurator with logic and details based on inputs from GPM and NPME.
  • Ensure the Product Option Architecture (POA) is updated and aligned with product changes and customer requirements.
  • Manage the cut-in dates for product changes, ensuring smooth transitions in the manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Oversee the OFE team to ensure accurate translation of customer requirements into the OBOM for efficient parts procurement and assembly.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting cross-functional communication and knowledge sharing between the PLE and OFE groups and their stakeholders throughout the company.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements to optimize product development and order fulfillment workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and quality assurance procedures.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a managerial role overseeing engineering, product management, or manufacturing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of engineer-to-order product development processes, sales configurators, and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly between product development engineers, product management, and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and guide teams effectively.
