The SMT Prep Technician supports SMT Machine Operators by preparing all necessary materials, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient and accurate operation of SMT production lines for printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret engineering documentation, work orders, and assembly drawings.
Set up feeders for SMT machines according to specifications.
Operate CyberOptics optical inspection equipment.
Verify availability of all process tools, stencils, and fixtures prior to setup.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming solder paste and related materials.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety protocols.
Participate in company training programs focused on skill development and continuous improvement.
Utilize hand tools required for SMT preparation.
Identify basic SMT components and verify polarity.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
Minimum 1 year of experience with SMT equipment.
6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
Basic knowledge of SMT components and assembly processes.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 6 months' working experience with SMT Prep operations.
Previous experience in an PCB electronics manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 5 lbs or more.
Frequent standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing
