Job Description

Title:

SMT Machine Operator

:

Performs assembly of surface mount assemblies as directed by engineering documentation. May perform printing of boards, assembly or re-flow of surface mount assemblies. Set-up of equipment in preparation for operation. May require the use of simple computer skills to perform trimming operations as required. May require the use of simple mechanical hand tools or measurement tools in the performance of their jobs. Must be able to monitor and schedule operations to optimize production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Review process documentation for any special requirements. Perform loading of feeders per machine documentation such as verify marking & value of component on load list; verify quantity issued to job; verified feeders per load list onto production machine. Perform machine set-up as required: SMT machine programs, paste information, reflow programs. Assemble items to IPC-610 workmanship criteria. Ensure that work area is kept clean and that safety rules are followed. Participate in company or special training classes with emphasis on employee improvement.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

Ability to read and understand blueprints. Assemble to determine critical points. Ability to identify component values. Working knowledge of IPC 610.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in PCB manufacturing environment preferred. 6 months' working experience with SMT machine operations preferred. 6 months' working experience with SMT equipment. 6 months' working experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand technical documentation.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 5 lbs or more. Frequent standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing
