Job Description

American Robotics is seeking a Small Electronics Assembler to support production of drone and robotics systems. This role focuses on precise bench-level assembly of small electronic and electro-mechanical components, including the construction of fine-gauge wiring harnesses used in unmanned aircraft platforms.

The ideal candidate is highly detail oriented, comfortable working with small parts and wires, and experienced assembling electronics and wiring from technical drawings and work instructions.

Responsibilities:

Assemble small electronic and electro-mechanical subassemblies for drone systems. Build fine-gauge wiring harnesses for sensors, avionics, and onboard electronics. Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate small-gauge wires typically in the 20-32 AWG range. Perform fine-pitch soldering on wires, connectors, and small PCBs as required. Install PCBs, connectors, sensors, and wiring into housings and airframes. Read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, pinouts, and BOMs. Inspect assemblies for workmanship, orientation, continuity, and cosmetic quality. Perform basic electrical and continuity testing when required. Apply labels, heat shrink, strain relief, and lightweight sleeving. Document completed work and report assembly issues or deviations. Maintain a clean, organized electronics assembly workstation.
Follow ESD, safety, and electronics handling procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Experience assembling small electronic or electro-mechanical products. Experience building small wiring harnesses or electronic cable assemblies. Comfortable working with fine-gauge wire and micro-connectors. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams. Strong attention to detail and consistency. Good hand dexterity and fine motor control.
Ability to work onsite in a bench-level manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in electronics manufacturing, robotics, UAVs, or avionics. Soldering experience on small electronics and fine-gauge wiring. Familiarity with JST, Molex Micro, Harwin, or similar connectors. Experience with ESD-controlled environments.
Experience assembling low-volume, high-mix products.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand at a bench for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Why This Role Is Important:

This role directly supports the reliability and performance of American Robotics' drone platforms. Precision electronics assembly and lightweight wiring harnesses are critical to system functionality, weight management, and long-term field reliability.
