The Site Supervisor is the point person on the jobsite, managing and directing the tasks of all crew members and subcontractors on site to ensure efficiency and productivity. The role of the Site Supervisor is to provide on-site support to ensure that the project is executed in line with the agreed schedule and budget. The Site Supervisor must possess strong managerial and organizational skills to actively manage and supervise all jobsite crew members, including subcontractors, to maintain high-quality work and adherence to the project plan. The Site Supervisor must also possess and utilize experienced carpentry skills.
Responsibilities
Manage and execute excellent rough and finish carpentry including but not limited to:
Framing of walls, floors, and roofs; trusses; rafters; stringers
Execution of all phases of interior/exterior trim
Door and window installation
Accurate plate layout; plumb and line walls
Cutting and installation of rough and finished stairs
Ability to complete advanced framing, air sealing, and weatherization techniques
Hang cabinets including managing layout and troubleshooting
Application of various types of underlayments and air/vapor/weather resistant barriers
Provide specific training for crew members to ensure they can be successful with their daily carpentry tasks.
Facilitates a 2-5 min. crew meeting at the beginning of each day to convey daily goals and answer questions and make sure time is accurately tracked.
Consistently arrives at the jobsite on time, works within daily start and stop times, and takes break and lunch with the crew when possible.
Organizes the workday and workflow to minimize overtime.
Coordinates with subcontractors to make sure they have the necessary on-site support, and informs the Project Manager promptly of any issues, questions or concerns.
Prepares the jobsite for subcontractors.
Requests support from the Production Manager or Designer as needed to answer design intent and documentation questions.
Provides leadership to ensure that the crew is working together efficiently toward defined project goals.
Sets a positive example for the jobsite team by actively supporting everyone on the crew, regardless of skill level, and never openly criticizing other members of the project team.
Ensures that all crew members understand which job cost code to track time against on timesheets, and reviews crew timesheets on a weekly basis to check for accuracy.
Takes initiative to solve project problems and maintain high standards; involves the Project Manager and Designer for additional support only when needed.
Keeps the jobsite stocked with required supplies with three or fewer supplier trips per week.
Coordinates with the Project Manager about materials and deliveries. Can prepare take-offs and order approved materials.
Works with the Project Manager or Production Manager to make sure special orders arrive on time and are installed properly.
Notifies the Project Manager when the client requests a change so that Change Order paperwork can be presented to the client for signature prior to starting additional work.
Works with the Project Manager to understand the budget and hold to it.
Works with the Project Manager to understand the schedule, hold to it, and communicate clearly and in a timely fashion any anticipated delays in the completion date, and reasons for delays.
Maintains personal, jobsite, and crew safety at all times.
Ensures that the jobsite is clean at the end of the day and well-organized during the day.
Keeps a reliable jobsite notebook or system for notetaking.
Ensures completion of all punch list and job close-out tasks.
Ensures good communication and prompt response to calls/texts from the Project Manager and others on the project team.
Coordinates with the Production Manager to schedule crew efficiently across all ongoing projects.
Submits coded receipts to the office in a reliable and timely fashion.
Conducts regular tool, trailer, and vehicle inspections to ensure reliable usage. Coordinates maintenance and repair of tools and communicates to Project Manager if new tools are required for the jobsite.
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
