Site Security Manger (SSM) Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Team Lead and the location\xe2\x80\x99s Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Provide guidance to the junior personnel on site
  • Provide the PM with metrics and quantitative values for each metric that must be reported
  • Act as the primary site POC.
  • Manage the daily operations at a RAPIDS site to include managing users, cardstock, and consumables.
  • Perform all responsibilities of a RAPIDS user (Verifying Official), as well as all SSM responsibilities.
  • Be accountable for all CAC-related stock items, including CAC cardstock, non-ICC cardstock, and printer consumables. To preserve accountability for CAC cardstock, the SSM must follow the prescribed Issuance Logistic Portal acceptance procedures, including signing for stock, verifying card numbers in the carton, and accepting/rejecting each carton of a CAC shipment before the CAC UP can issue CACs from that carton.
  • Coordinate the destruction of printer ribbons, as they contain "Privacy Act" data.
  • Be responsible for the security management of RAPIDS and act as the staff focal point for RAPIDS security issues.
  • Ensure maximum protection against compromise and theft of sensitive information and prevent the misuse or misappropriation of RAPIDS.
  • Ensure that all assigned RAPIDS workstations are operated, maintained, and secured according to these security procedures. Maintain a file copy of the type of accreditation statement, and prepare unit-specific recommendations, through the appropriate chain of command, for input into the accreditation document, as required.
  • Implement training and awareness for RAPIDS security and incorporate this training into the overall unit security and RAPIDS training programs.
  • Ensure the RAPIDS audit trails are reviewed at least weekly and that audit files are maintained for thirty days.
  • Report incidents to the Site Manager/Commander.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members of the Armed Forces, family members, civilians, and contractors. Assist customers; provide advice on eligibility requirements, and process applications to determine eligibility.
  • Perform all functions required to issue ID cards, ID tags, Geneva Convention cards, Teslin cards, and CAC issuance-related tasks to include review, research, and verification of source documents eligibility, and discussing entitlements
  • ID issuance through verification of the recipient\xe2\x80\x99s eligibility shall be performed with a 100 percent degree of accuracy.
  • Take appointments via telephone and email request through the generic ID card email account, if applicable, or manage the DMDC centralized ID card appointment scheduler. Update the on-line calendar daily to reflect new appointments and provide same day replies to requestors.
  • Manage the accountability and control the issuance of military ID cards and CAC for Active component military, National Guard and Reserve Members, military retirees, family members/dependents and other eligible recipients.
  • Research and reconcile DEERS information based on inquiries. Updates DEERS/RAPIDS within one hour of approval and responds to inquiries not later than one business day following the inquiry. Follow-up and resolve discrepancies not later than two business days following notification.
  • Understand and interpret Department of Defense Instructions (DoDI) 1000-13 and DoDI 1000.13 Volumes 1 thru 3.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have 6 months experience as Verifying Official
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Personnel must speak, read, and comprehend English with the ability to read and understand printed regulations, detailed written orders, operating procedures, training instructions and materials.
  • Must undergo a pre-employment criminal background check, and favorable fingerprint check prior to operating or having access to DEERS/RAPIDS equipment.
  • Must be certified as a Verifying Official and SSM
