The Opportunity:

As a site reliability engineer on our team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work on the development of a system that disseminates Space Situational Awareness data to provide collision analysis and warning services to commercial satellite owners and operators by building resilient infrastructure. You\xe2\x80\x99ll build in redundancy, implement monitoring tools, and automate wherever possible. You\xe2\x80\x99ll reduce toil by scripting routine tasks and automating self-repair. This is your chance to leverage your expertise in cloud technologies, cyber security, and satellite systems while supporting your team of engineers and acting as a subject matter expert for your clients. You will be inheriting containerized application code delivered by the CI/CD pipeline for deployment. You will be designing a cloud-native deployment topology that accounts for high availability, including 99.5% or more, scalability, performance, and security. Familiarity with cluster management platforms such as K8s is required for deploying these workloads. You will be well versed with cloud service monitoring and instrument the deployments with auto-healing and auto-recoverability and minimize the downtime close to zero. You will recommend and implement a standby environment or parts of it such that we exceed the agreed-upon SLAs and KPPs.

You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience with monitoring, automating, and improving the uptime and performance of a software system solution by agreed-upon service level agreement (SLA), service level objectives (SLOs), and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • 6+ years of experience with developing or using troubleshooting incidents, building effective monitoring systems and reporting tools to analyze the root cause of technical issues, building stable and sustainable solutions and improvements, and ensuring the continuous reliability and operations of computer systems
  • 4+ years of experience with setting up and configuring K8S clusters or AKS service for running containerized workloads
  • Experience with automating the deployment of various AWS services, including autoscaling, load balancing into the underlying VPC, and subnets provisioned for your team
  • Experience with building enough redundancy such that the application is available for the end users without impacting performance
  • Experience with assisting the software engineering team to ensure accurate monitoring and metrics are built into the applications before deployment to production
  • Experience working with tools and technologies in software development, configuration control, security, automation, and containerization
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues on a priority basis and isolate the problem and resolve it such that the application availability is not impacted
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree

  • Ability to analyze logs, service level trace files, isolate a problem, and work with the development and operations team to correct the problem
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual\xe2\x80\x99s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen\xe2\x80\x99s total compensation package for employees.
