Responsible for the on-site coordination and supervision of the After School Program for children. Ensures that staff provides a quality after school experience through planning and leading age appropriate activities consistent with the YMCA mission and core values. Responsible for all record keeping required by the YMCA, PCSB, Early Learning Coalition, and State Licensing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensures that the daily program curriculum provided is within established guidelines consistent with the YMCA Afterschool Program, providing leadership and assistance to after school group leaders.
Provide daily snacks, plans and implements program activities consistent with The Y's Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards (HEPA). Ensures that the program activities are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Supervises group leaders to ensure they are providing direct supervision of children at all times and assists as required for effective and quality programming. Assists in all activities including special instruction, sports, or other special events.
Conducts fire drills and Code 99 drills on a monthly basis.
Maintains and submits accurate records including sign in/out sheets, attendance records, payment records, timesheets, fire drill & code 99 logs, and incident/accident reports to Program Director within set timeframe. Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff.
Follow all applicable guidelines as set forth by YMCA, Polk County School Board, State Licensing and other contractual obligations.
Ensures all participants have program fees paid in full prior to participation in program. Collect required fees including late pick up fee as applicable.
Responsible for the daily opening and/or closing of the after school program, program set-up, safety and cleanliness standards. Submit equipment/supply request in writing to supervisor.
Dispense medication as prescribed by a physician as requested by the parent in the form of written consent and approved by the Program Director.
Attends and participate in all required staff meetings and staff development opportunities at a minimum of 10 hours of in-service per year after the first year of service.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills including Listen First in all interactions.
Supports The Y's Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards (HEPA), encouraging children, adults and families to adopt a healthy lifestyle and role-models the standards
Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age requirement - 21 years of age.
High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
One-two years of experience in child care, management, or the equivalent.
CPR, First Aid, & AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
Complete YMCA of the USA New Employee Orientation e-learning course.
Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
