Mount Pisgah Arboretum is seeking a versatile, hands-on individual with a passion for the outdoors and a talent for problem-solving. This role combines both indoor and outdoor responsibilities and is well-suited to a motivated self-starter who enjoys tackling a wide range of facility and maintenance-related tasks. The position will collaborate closely with a supportive team and develop and manage effective systems and workflows for facility care and maintenance. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

At Mount Pisgah Arboretum, we believe that the more people are inspired to learn about and engage with the natural world, the more we will all honor and preserve it for future generations. Established in 1973, our mission is to engage people with nature through interactive learning and stewardship. The Arboretum maintains 209 acres of diverse natural habitats. Our seven miles of family-friendly trails are open free to the public and feature dynamic and interactive exhibits. The Arboretum's nature education programs serve thousands of children and adults. Our events venue hosts dozens of private celebrations as well as our two large annual festivals. The Arboretum's small staff works as a close-knit team to advance our common goals. We enjoy broad support from diverse sources, including more than 2000 members and 500 volunteers.

PAY, SCHEDULE, AND BENEFITS
Compensation:
Hourly, non-exempt year-round position at $20 per hour, 32 hours per week
Schedule:
May - October
? 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
? 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Mondays
November - April
? 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Venue Duties
? White Oak Pavilion cleaning, including dusting, power washing, window cleaning, and outdoor cleaning
? Set up and take down for events, including moving tables, chairs, and accessories.
? Trash Removal
? Provide high-quality customer service to rental clients and vendors.
? Weeding, mowing, landscaping
Park Maintenance & Janitorial Duties
? Ensure that rental facilities and public amenities remain clean and well-stocked.
? Maintain an event log and communicate key issues to Arboretum staff via email
? Painting, power washing, and graffiti removal
Festival Duties
? Provide on-site support for Festivals and special events, including setup, event day, and cleanup
? Collaborate with partner organizations' staff and volunteers to ensure successful events
? Assist with parking during Festivals and special events
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
? Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with rental clients, vendors, volunteers, and the public.
? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
? Problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and follow instructions.
? Ability to walk trails, stand for extended periods (30+ minutes), and lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly
? Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
? Valid Oregon driver's license and reliable transportation
? Excellent reliability and punctuality

Must be able to pass a background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
? Mechanical aptitude
? Familiarity with local ecology
? Conversational fluency in Spanish
? Experience working or volunteering for a nonprofit
? Experience in supporting large events
