Job Description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Simulation Operations Technician to join our Area of Nursing Learning and Development team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.


Summary:



The Simulation Technician is primarily responsible for meeting the educational needs of clinic staff in the simulation center. This involves setting up, operating, and manipulating patient care simulators, as well as multimedia, computer, and related equipment necessary for simulating medical conditions and responses used in nursing and other allied health courses.


Responsibilities:



Demonstrates effective, professional communication and collaboration with Nursing Learning and Development (NLD) staff, clinic managers, and learners Upholds confidentiality, safety, and professionalism at all times Supports psychological safety practices in prebrief and debrief Follows Simulation Center SOPs and CNDH policies Assists in the operation of media equipment (video cameras, computers, A/V distribution) Programs manikins, prepares props, and applies moulage as directed by instructional staff Sets up, operates, and takes down patient simulators, task trainers, and audiovisual equipment Restores simulation labs to pre-scenario conditions Performs basic maintenance and troubleshooting of simulators and A/V systems; escalating issues as needed Receives, sets up, and tests new equipment and software Maintains records of simulation activities, equipment usage, and supplies Assists with ordering, storing, and tracking simulation supplies and equipment Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner Greets and engages with a smile Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment Maintains and promotes professionalism Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc. Performs all other duties as assigned

Basic Life Support (BLS) Pass general background check

Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist

Must maintain current BLS or obtain BLS within one (1) month of hire; if not current

Working Conditions:

Works in a hospital or clinic environment Walking up to 50% of shift Standing up to 50% of shift Constantly lift and or carry over 50 lbs Infrequent travel Stressful environment due to any or a combination of deadlines, pressures, multiple tasks, lines of communication, risks, speed of operations, etc. Potential exposure to contagious diseases May be required to assist individuals with unmanaged emotions May be required to assist individuals who are hostile, agitated or under the influence Pass pre-employment drug test
