WY Preference: Boxelder Road Improvements 23EN12

7/12/23 to 7/14/23

  • Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects. Candidates may be working in both Wyoming and South Dakota.
This job is being posted in accordance with Wyoming State Statute, 16-6-203, Article 2-Preference for Wyoming State Laborers. "Preference will be given to Wyoming residents who meet the requirements."

Main Responsibilities:
  • Embrace the Company\'s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
  • Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
  • Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
  • Discusses traffic routing plans, type and location of control points with superior
  • Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site in designated pattern
  • Directs movement of traffic through site, using, signs, hands and flag signals
  • Warns construction works when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury to workers
  • Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites
  • Gives hand marker to last driver in line up of one-way traffic for flagger at opposite end of site, signaling clearance for reverse flow of traffic
  • May occasionally operate pilot car at construction site
  • Some travel to out of town work locations
Education:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Valid drivers\' license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required
Skills:
  • Flagging/traffic control experience preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements:
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds with or without assistance
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise
  • Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
  • Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation*: Starting at $20.00/hr DOE

*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual\'s qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
