Here\xe2\x80\x99s what the job entails
In the role, your primary area of responsibility will be to establish a profitable trading book for short-term futures in relevant North American power markets. Further, your areas of responsibility will include the following:
analyze US power markets and their fundamental drivers
research, implement and refine trading strategies from idea to testing and deployment in the markets
support the development of automated model-based futures trading through collaboration with our Automated Trading team
build scalable trading tools and solutions to enable further growth in the overall business
proactively identify new areas of trading by staying up to date with regulatory changes and new products available on exchanges

You will join our US Short-Term Power Trading team at our US office in Stamford, CT. This is a young team, established just two years ago \xe2\x80\x93 yet, already profitable. We trade short-term power in the US, covering all exchanges and regional power markets from the West to the East. We create value by tailoring, designing and executing trading strategies, testing ideas and screening new markets and products by means of consistent and thorough data analysis. In its short existence, the short-term trading desk has had significant success and gained a meaningful market share in short-term power markets. We see great further development potential and to reach our ambitions, we are looking to expand the team. As a competitive collective, we strive to be the best at what we do and that truly drives our attitude towards our results. Finally, we have an informal work culture with flexibility in our daily schedules.

In addition to your primary tasks as a trader, you will also work on your own projects and analyses. We imagine that you are not afraid of taking responsibility and that you are always looking to optimise things where possible. Further, you are someone who employs a data-driven and structured approach to solving problems as you will work with various cases that require thorough analyses to support decision-making. Furthermore, we imagine that you:
have a relevant educational background in Economics, Finance, Engineering or similar
thrive on working in a result-driven trading environment
have a couple of years of experience with trading short-term electricity and/or gas or have an interest in learning the domain
are authorized to work in the United States
