Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop Assistant to support the production of vinyl fencing. This role involves assisting with fabrication, assembly, material handling, and general shop duties to ensure efficient and high-quality fence production. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the fabrication and assembly of vinyl fencing components Measure, cut, and prepare vinyl materials according to specifications Operate basic shop tools and equipment (training provided) Load, unload, and move materials within the shop Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times Assist senior fabricators or supervisors as needed Help with packaging and preparing fencing for delivery or pickup

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and carry heavy materials Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise and dust

Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is an asset Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely Basic measuring and math skills Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
