Shipping Warehouse Supervisor

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:



Manage the movement of finished goods from plant to customer. Clearly and professionally communicate directly with customers on truck and delivery schedules, expedites, and move ups to provide the best level of logistical customer service. Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely order delivery. Prepare and maintain shipping documents and ensure shipments are properly labeled and securely loaded. Ensure compliance with shipping specifications and facility safety standards. Maintain accurate finished good inventory within the warehouse. Supervise and train shipping area staff/stock movers, delegate tasks and monitor performance. Utilize SAP to manage ship schedules, confirm material availability and generate ship documents. Notify Supply Chain team of any material shortages. Maintain flexibility in schedule to accommodate delayed deliveries or hot pickups. Work with transportation companies to obtain competitive shipping quotes. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to 5S standards. Identify inefficiencies in shipping workflow and finished good storage and propose actionable solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and supply chain teams to align improvement efforts. Monitor KPI's such as on-time delivery, shipping error rate, warehouse inventory accuracy, and inventory levels. Train shipping staff on new procedures and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Utilize ADP to manage team timecards and time off requests. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:



Work safely and champion co-workers to do the same. Work cooperatively with peers. Be respectful and demonstrate professionalism. Working overtime is a condition of employment, including being available for call ins as needed. Perform 5S daily and comply with the five 5S Rules to Live By. Know the 4 key points of the Quality Management System (QMS). Be able to read, understand, and follow the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions. Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor/Manager.

Competencies:



Experience with SAP and shipping platforms (FedEx, UPS, Freight Brokers) Knowledge of freight carriers, shipping documentation, and regulations Experience with warehouse operations and inventory control Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team Clear verbal and written communication Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Familiarity with safety and compliance standards Proactive approach to identifying and solving issues Flexibility in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Ability to analyze processes and implement improvements

Educational/Training Requirements:




High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:



Must have thorough knowledge of operations in the Warehouse and be familiar with the product and the processes for accurate shipments of product. Must have thorough knowledge of quality standards and specifications, the current Bargaining Agreement and Company Policies.
