Shipping Team Leader to oversee daily shipping operations, ensuring orders are packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on time. The Shipping Team Leader will manage a team of shipping clerks and associates, coordinate with warehouse and logistics personnel, and maintain compliance with shipping procedures and company policies.
Essential Functions
Supervise and lead a team of shipping associates in daily operations.
Monitor and ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, labeling, and shipping of orders.
Coordinate with carriers, couriers, and internal logistics teams to schedule shipments.
Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained for all outgoing shipments.
Implement and maintain safety procedures in the shipping area.
Train new shipping team members in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
Conduct regular team meetings and shift handovers.
Perform quality control checks to verify correct shipment contents and documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to delayed or incorrect shipments.
Maintain inventory accuracy for shipping staging areas.
Assist with preparing reports on shipping metrics and performance.
Suggest process improvements to optimize workflow and reduce costs.
Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality of goods
Properly Scan shipping data into inventory and logistics systems (ERP/WMS software)
Track shipments and resolve delivery issues as needed
Maintain organized shipping and receiving area
Operate Power Industrial Equipment
Assist with inventory counts and cycle audits
Comply with all safety and shipping regulations and company policies
