Position Overview

As a

Shipping Supervisor

, you are responsible for coordinating outbound shipping activities to support manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are being adhered to in the handling and storage of all materials; i.e. finished goods or raw materials and equipment. The

will also be responsible for the general housekeeping of the warehouse, assigning tasks as needed to maintain a safe, neat and orderly environment. The scope of this position includes direct supervision of the shipping personnel and management of safety, daily operations, equipment maintenance, scheduling, daily inventory space, quality standards, and miscellaneous supply items for operating efficiently. The

is responsible for coordinating outbound shipping activities to support manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Perform overall organization transfer, loading, and unloading of trailers Maintains a high level of communication with customers, sales, production, and shipping departments as necessary Works on the floor directing and assisting Warehouse/Shipping team Understand and use AS400 system to monitor current and future shipping schedules Load to maximize product yield on trailers Understand and learn DOT regulations that pertain to shipping Recognize and adhere to best practices for safety Direct material handler forklift drivers Must be trained and familiar with general safety Must be trained and familiar with Quality System Awareness Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required Other duties and responsibilities as directed

Requirements

High school diploma (or equivalent) Two years of shipping/receiving or logistics experience required The ability to lead, develop and communicate with teammates is necessary Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken. Must be able to use simple math and use basic handheld measuring tools. Must have basic computer skills. Must have knowledge of DOT regulations.
