The Role




The primary responsibilities of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is to manage the flow of incoming and outgoing goods by performing duties like unloading shipments, inspecting for damage, and updating inventory records.

Key Responsibilities



Receiving

+ Performing light Quality Control to ensure that products meet standards
+ Inspect all received goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies.
+ Unload and unpack incoming deliveries from trucks, ensuring prompt and efficient processing.
+ Compare package contents to purchase orders, manifests, and packing slips to verify the accuracy of orders.
+ Inspect all received goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies.
+ Record all data about incoming shipments, including details on any damages or shortages.
+ Route received materials and supplies to the correct internal departments or storage areas.

Shipping

+ Prepare and package outgoing orders, including pulling items from inventory and packing them securely.
+ Generate and apply shipping labels, load tags, and other necessary documents.
+ Coordinate with freight carriers and other service providers to schedule and track outgoing shipments.
+ Load prepared shipments onto trucks using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
+ Provide delivery confirmation and update customer service representatives on the shipment status.
+ Adhere to and maintain ITAR standards and compliance as it relates to international shipments

Inventory and record-keeping

+ Keeps track of all orders and dispatches priority orders first
+ Maintain an accurate and organized inventory log by scanning and counting all incoming and outgoing stock.
+ Update inventory management software and other internal systems with receiving and shipping information.
+ Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with audits.
+ Manage returns for damaged or incorrect shipments.

Facilities

+ Assembles crates for loading, using hand tools if needed
+ Installs bracing, padding and strapping to loaded materials to ensure safe and secure dispatching of ordered material
+ Assist in facility requests as needed
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
+ Adhere to all company safety procedures and guidelines.
+ Operate and perform daily checks on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts.

Qualifications & Experience



High school Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License At least 1 year of MRP experience Ability to follow oral and written instructions Highly detail oriented Ability to prioritize multiple tasks Ability to work effectively with a team Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort Ability to use or knowledge of working a pallet jack Ability to use or knowledge of working a forklift Good communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge using online shipping tools such as Fed-Ex and UPS Strong data entry skills Ability to lift heavy items (25-100 pounds) Ability to stand for long periods of time
