The Shipping/Receiving Associate maintains responsibility for managing incoming and outgoing products for Sterling Technology. Incumbent is responsible for checking inventory on incoming freight, handling damaged freight appropriately, maintaining a clean working environment at all times and handling inventory of all warehouse products for the shipping/receiving area at Sterling Technology. The Shipping/Receiving Associate also maintains responsibility for proper production, packaging and shipping of the tubing and bottling areas.
Essential Functions
Ensures outgoing orders are packaged appropriately with the correct supply count
Maintains inventory and inspection of incoming packages and products (excluding bulk powder)
Cleans and sanitizes bottling room before Kirkman bottling or special bottling projects not using the bottling line; assists with bottling line production
Prepares bottles and stoppers needed for production
Ensures bottling production is kept at the highest standard of cleanliness at all times
Oversees other staff when assisting with bottling projects
Performs Quality Assurance testing on liquids produced and maintains records on all testing
Ensures the areas of shipping, pre-bottling, bottling and tubing are kept clean and organized at all times
Maintains a sufficient supply of inventory at all times in order for the warehouse to run efficiently
As it pertains to tubing production, ensures daily production goals are met as well as recording and assigning lot numbers to all products made.
Oversees other staff who assist in the tubing area to ensure quality standards are being met.
Prepares shipping documents and mailing labels for all outgoing orders
Fills daily orders with current product in-stock; arranges the completion of backordered items with customers requesting product
Verifies products received for the shipping/receiving area are correct and delivers other received products to the correct departments
Fills sample request orders for sales staff including literature pieces as requested.
Informs office staff when cleaning and other supplies are needed
Bottles experimental liquid projects and mixes special powder blends
Prints and sends producer tags to correct branch managers or route drivers
Makes sure dirty towels and mops are in the proper place each week before uniform vendor arrives
Maintains responsibility for all claims regarding damaged products received from UPS or Fed-Ex
Manages office supplies (files, paper, pens, etc.) for back area; keeps necessary supplies stocked as needed
Places special request orders with Administrative Assistant when necessary for office supplies
Completes a physical inventory list of area each month and submits it to the Controller
Assists in other areas as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Shipping/Receiving Associate is responsible for supervising the bottling, shipping/receiving, and tube production areas.

Physical Demands and Efforts
The physical demands described here are representative of those that could be expected of an employee in the performance of the essential functions of this job. Incumbent will be expected to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking for an entire shift. Must be capable of communicating with others both verbally and in writing; will be expected to use hands or fingers to manipulate equipment other than a keyboard. May occasionally be required to reach below and/or above waist level and below and/or above shoulders or head. Light to heavy lifting (up to 48 lbs.) may be required at times.
Vision Requirements
Vision requirements include close, distance, and midrange vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus near and far frequently.
Work Environment
The work environment is noisy with running machines and equipment, frequent interruptions and moderate traffic. Incumbent may be exposed to wet and humid working conditions.
