Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator located in Greater Houston. The role of a Shipping/Receiving is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of inventory operations, ensuring that the right products are available at the right time, and supporting the overall success of the organization. This position must be able to perform all functions/positions within the department as well as any assigned.
Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Complete internal forms and documents or reports as instructed.
Verify correctness of received material against bill of lading invoices and checks for damaged parts, etc.
Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
Marks materials with identifying information.
Sort and place materials or items in proper locations according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets, shelves or directly onto company/ customer trucks or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
Pulls parts and places in bin for production shops and performs counts as necessary.
Reads Pick Ticket to determine parts to be pulled for assembly.
Checks, weighs and packs products to confirm to work orders.
Finish process by wrapping or creating loads for shipment.
Inputs data into the computer system via scanner.
Perform stock transfers and inventory counts.
Processes vendor returns.
Responsible for the proper care and maintenance of company equipment assigned to the warehouse area.
Ensure warehouse areas are clean, accessible, and safe for traffic.
Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.
Qualifications
Experience in Shipping & Receiving and Inventory Control
Proficient in Forklift Operation and Material Handling
Strong Communication skills
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Requires ability to be certified to operate a lift truck.
Experience working in a diverse environment is plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in logistics or related fields is a plus
