We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. The Shift Leader will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing staff effectively. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for the food industry, and the ability to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the restaurant during assigned shifts.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards.
Train, develop, and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee the operation of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed to support kitchen staff during peak times.
Implement effective shift management strategies to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Conduct staff interviews and participate in the hiring process for new team members.
Collaborate with management on budgeting, scheduling, and operational improvements.
Ability to work late nights until 2 A.M on weekends.
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within quick service or fast food restaurants.
Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and cash handling procedures.
Experience with Aloha POS or Micros POS systems is preferred.
Background in fine dining or casual dining environments is a plus.
Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management and staff training.
Familiarity with hospitality management principles and food service management practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
