Duties

Lay underground pipelines using a variety of heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to prepare trenches and install pipe systems efficiently. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to accurately position pipes according to project specifications. Operate specialized tools like pipe lasers for precise alignment and welding equipment for joining pipes securely. Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks when necessary to support pipeline installations or related structures. Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities and prevent damage during excavation activities. Use forklift trucks and other machinery to transport materials safely around the site. Install piping systems for plumbing, utility connections for infrastructure while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with pipeline testing, inspections, and quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety checks completed during each shift. Collaborate with team members on site safety practices, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks in construction environments. Strong knowledge of pipeline installation processes including trenching, pipe laying, concrete forming, and utility locating. Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings related to pipeline projects. Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and OSHA regulations. Skilled in using specialized tools such as pipe lasers for alignment equipment for joining pipes securely. Capable of performing physical tasks including lifting heavy materials, digging trenches, and working in various weather conditions. Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation; additional certifications in welding or plumbing are a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
