Overview


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Writer / Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our automotive dealership. This role combines customer service excellence with technical understanding of automotive repairs, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients while managing the service department efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess dealership experience, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive knowledge of automotive service processes, including diagnostics, repairs, and sales. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment dedicated to quality vehicle maintenance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities



Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and explaining repair options clearly. Write detailed service reports and estimates utilizing auto estimating tools, ensuring accuracy and transparency. Manage the flow of vehicles through the service department, coordinating repairs with technicians and ensuring timely completion. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, transmissions, and auto body repairs. Oversee daily store operations including inventory management, parts ordering, and cash handling procedures. Supervise and support service technicians with diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes and transmission work. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Lead the team by setting goals for sales performance and customer satisfaction metrics; motivate staff to meet or exceed targets. Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally to promote loyalty and positive reviews. Maintain knowledge of current automotive repair techniques and industry trends to improve service offerings.

Requirements



Proven dealership experience or extensive background in auto service management is preferred. Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and mechanical systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, alignments, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, oil changes, auto body repair, air brakes, etc. Experience in auto estimating software and vehicle sales processes is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Demonstrated ability in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Leadership qualities with experience supervising a team of technicians or service advisors. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage store operations efficiently. Mechanical knowledge combined with service writing skills to support both technical staff and customer needs effectively. Pay: $72,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
