Duties
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management to promote healthy living
Operate patient lifting equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and mobility
Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties in resident rooms and common areas
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or developmental disabilities care
Document observations accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and facility protocols
Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being
Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care
Respond effectively during emergencies by applying first aid or CPR when necessary
Support hospice or memory care residents with compassion and patience during their daily routines
Experience
Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs is essential
Experience with medication administration, care planning, and documentation is advantageous
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities enhances your suitability for this role
Hands-on experience using lifting devices such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids is beneficial
Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds including seniors, individuals with autism or disabilities is important
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications like HIPAA training are a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents or moving equipment is necessary
Strong communication skills combined with patience and empathy are essential for success in this role
