The Kitchen Utility Worker will support the Culinary Services team by assisting with meal preparation, meal service, dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Under the supervision of the Culinary Director, the Kitchen Utility Worker will help ensure residents and guests have a positive dining experience.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
Previous experience in food service, dishwashing, or hospitality.
Safe Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain).
Brief Description of Duties:
Assist with basic food preparation, including cutting, portioning, and plating items as directed.
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and equipment in compliance with health and safety standards.
Set up dining rooms before meal service and clean after meals while maintaining or exceeding hospitality and service standards.
Take meal and drink orders when needed and serve meals in a friendly and timely manner.
Ensure residents and guests are satisfied with their meals and dining experience.
Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules as assigned by the Culinary Director.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas.
Assist with stocking supplies and rotating inventory.
Support orientation and training of new culinary team members as directed.
Practice all safety and loss prevention procedures.
Maintain or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness, personal sanitation, and hygiene.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to bend, reach, and stoop frequently.
Ability to tolerate heat and humidity from kitchen and dishwashing equipment.
Must be able to perform repetitive motions such as grasping, twisting, and chopping.
