La Mesa is a Latin-inspired neighborhood bistro in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis, offering an array of pan-seared fish and seafood, slow-roasted meats, handmade pizzas and delicious vegetarian plates cooked in a wood-fire oven. We offer a vibrant yet cozy neighborhood atmosphere, and warm, attentive service. We also offer local and regional craft beer, select cocktails and spirits, and a thoughtful wine list that features regional South American selections.

La Mesa offers the opportunity to work with a great clientele and menu in a cozy neighborhood setting with an inviting patio. Servers are expected to take responsibility for each guest's experience and deliver thoughtful, welcoming, and professional service. Working as a proactive part of the whole house team is essential.

Required Skill Set and Knowledge

Minimum one year full-service dining experience, including alcohol service Ability to think and communicate clearly and calmly in high pressure situations Solid knowledge of wine and beer, as well as classic wine service Strong knowledge of spirits preferred, as well as cocktail ingredients and techniques; each server makes and serves all beverages ordered by their tables. Ability to confidently guide guests' experience, as well as recommending food and beverage pairings Proactive, positive attitude, excellent oral communication skills, and attention to detail and accuracy, ability to prioritize Strong work ethic, patience, and professionalism Sincerely enjoy being of service to others

Additional Requirements

Tuesday - Saturday night availability is required. Servers typically work a regular schedule, but must also be able to fill in other nights if needed. Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the restaurant's needs - may include nights, weekends and some holidays (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Halloween and Independence Day). Must be able to cover for others and/or trade shifts as needed in order to ensure coverage. Able to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours and lift 40lbs At least 18 years of age Must have reliable transportation
