Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our team at our Japanese restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for providing exceptional customer service and have a strong understanding of the food industry. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests enjoy an unforgettable dining experience through attentive service, knowledge of our menu, and the ability to upsell our offerings.

Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner. Take food and beverage orders accurately using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems. Provide detailed descriptions of menu items, including daily specials, to enhance guest experience. Upsell food and drink items to maximize sales opportunities. Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables while maintaining high standards of presentation. Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns promptly. Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately with basic math skills. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dining area and assist with bussing tables as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service flow and timely food preparation. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines for handling food.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred, particularly in fine dining settings. Familiarity with Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar point-of-sale systems is advantageous. Culinary experience or knowledge of Japanese cuisine is a plus. Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and satisfaction. Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is beneficial. Knowledge of sanitation practices and food safety regulations is essential for maintaining high standards in the restaurant.
