Job Description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:


Platform Architecture & Design: Design and implement scalable architecture that meets enterprise security, compliance, and performance standards.

Installation & Configuration: Install, update, and configure Posit Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager on specified Linux servers.

System Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, monitoring, and performance optimization of the Posit server environment.

User Management & Support: Manage user accounts, roles, and sessions, and provide direct technical support for user application troubleshooting. This includes assisting with package installation and environment configurations.

Package Management Strategy: Implement and manage an R and Python package management strategy using Posit Package Manager, including configuration of repositories and binary packages.

Security & Authentication: Configure and manage authentication (e.g., LDAP, SAML) and ensure platform security best practices are followed.

Documentation & Training: Create and maintain documentation of the platform's configuration, and potentially lead training sessions for administrators and users.


Preferred Skillsets:


Linux Expertise: High proficiency in Linux administration (e.g., Ubuntu, RedHat), including command-line navigation, file system management, process management, and editing configuration files.

Posit Products: Advanced knowledge of installing, configuring, and managing Posit Workbench, Posit Connect, and Posit Package Manager.

R and Python Ecosystems: Understanding of R and Python programming languages, their package ecosystems, and package management strategies.

Networking & Security: Experience with network configuration, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and authentication protocols (e.g., LDAP, SAML, PAM).

Containerization & Orchestration (Optional but beneficial): Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for potential load balancing or deployment in containerized environments.

Databases: Familiarity with database connectivity and configuration, particularly PostgreSQL, for Posit metadata storage.

Extensive Boeing internal Process Knowledge: WSSO, DSN, Insight, MARS, Certificate Admin, Server Remediation, IaaS


Roles & Responsibilities:


Develop and maintain web applications using Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate) on the backend and ReactJS on the frontend.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver features.

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.

Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with frontend components.

Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.

Stay updated with emerging technologies and apply them to improve development processes.


Contribute to architectural decisions and technical documentation.

Communication: Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with data scientists, IT teams, and management, often with varying levels of technical expertise.

Adaptability: Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and updates within the rapidly evolving Posit and data science landscape.

Mentorship: Capability to act as a subject matter expert and mentor for users and junior administrators.


Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per annum
