Job Description


Our client, a boutique CPA firm on the peninsula, is looking for a Senior Tax Manager specializing in partnership and fiduciary tax returns. Primarily responsible for overseeing the review and compliance process of complex tax returns, your role will involve ensuring accurate and timely completion of tax filings while adhering to relevant tax laws and regulations. You will work closely with a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, support, and expertise in a variety of tax matters, an expert on a diverse array of facts and circumstances. Pay is up to $85/hr. and is onsite only.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Review partnership and fiduciary tax returns, including Form 1065, Schedule K-1s and Form 1041, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Interact with clients to address inquiries, provide tax planning advice, and assist with complex tax issues, providing solutions to unique sets of facts and circumstances.
  • Maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of partnership and fiduciary tax return preparation and review processes. Continuous evaluation of tax return preparation and review processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to a team of tax professionals involved in partnership and fiduciary tax return preparation and review. Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented environment for development of entry level tax preparers.
Key requirements:
  • CPA or EA with bachelor\'s degree in accounting required. A master\'s degree in taxation highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in CCH ProSystem fx.
  • Significant experience (typically 7+ years) in partnership and fiduciary taxation, preferably in a mid-sized or regional public accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of partnership tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Familiarity with fiduciary tax concepts is essential.
  • Proven leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to lead and develop a team of tax professionals. Ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills to ensure accurate review and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex tax issues, identify potential risks, and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines.
