We are searching for a senior level Systems Engineer to lead the future of business and regional avionics systems by developing key architectures and products. This systems engineering opportunity is part of a highly motivated and multi-functional team of systems engineers responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting major business and regional avionics programs. This is a hybrid position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A comprehensive relocation package is available.

Responsibilities:

  • Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical engineering leadership in avionics system development in Commercial Systems Engineering. The selected applicant will work in a technologically advanced and challenging field supporting the application of flight deck products.
  • The selected applicant will lead and perform systems engineering tasks in support of Pro Line Fusion avionics system development.
  • Responsibilities include: system requirements capture, coordination of requirements across multiple domains, avionics systems verification and validation, providing technical support for system definition and installation, and supporting technical issue discussion and resolution with the customer. The role will require coordination across systems, with the domain subsystem departments and specialist support organizations (e.g. Safety, Reliability, Certification Office, etc) in order to facilitate program completion. Experience with commercial avionics system development and aircraft installation and interfaces to aircraft equipment would be very beneficial.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Should possess a background in systems, software or hardware engineering, along with experience in avionics system interface design
  • Must be highly motivated, well organized, and able to communicate effectively with other engineers, leadership, and customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pilot or strong understanding of aircraft piloting
  • Experience with avionics human machine interfaces
  • Experience with a general purpose scripting languages (Python, Lua, Javascript, etc)
  • Previous experience with complex system integration
