The Staff Accountant shall work with cost accountant to track and review job costs to ensure accuracy. This position will also coordinate with the Controller to ensure timely close of financial statements for the parent entities.
Responsibilities:
Intercompany billing and reconciliations
Posting of intercompany billings
Shared Services Billing and posting
Coordinate with project managers to collect customer accounts receivable balances
Collect and post accounts receivable invoices
Collect and post bank deposits
Poll and review monthly sales tax file (Parent only)
Parent sales tax filings
Parent quarterly B&O tax filings
Cross train and back up of cost accountant position
Weekly costs reports for DAM, NAD, and UK divisions
Oversight and reconciliation of the following balance sheet accounts and closing functions:
All fixed asset accounts
+ Review of repairs and maintenance for capital repairs
+ Review and reclassification of 31-9999 24-9999 38-9999 Inventory reconciliation (including participation in the year end physical count)
Monthly reconciliation of Sales & Use liability accounts
Monthly reconciliation of AR and AP
Monthly clearing of IC AR and AP
Monthly elimination of IC AR and AP, IC EQ Rental, Admin Service Fee, IC contract revenue
Monthly AP ad PR accrual calculation and posting
Amortization and reconciliation of prepaid expenses
Amortization and reconciliation of prepaid insurance
Accrual and reconciliation of Accrued Expense, Accrued Property Tax
Coding and Import of Enterprise monthly billings
Reconciliation of Capital Leases and LT Debt and Accrued Interest
Monthly reconciliation of Revenue and Costs to the WIP
Perform internal audit assignments as requested
All other duties as assigned by management
Skills:
Possess strong personal computer skillset including MS Office and accounting software
Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience:
A qualified candidate should have 5 or more years of accounting related experience in a major company or a division of a large corporation.
Candidate with previous construction industry experience preferred.
Candidates with previous experience working for a privately held company preferred.
Candidates with previous experience working with multi-entity organization preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field required; however, candidates with significant accounting or other finance related experience will be considered in lieu of education
Physical Requirements:
Ability to be physically seated for long periods of time in a standard issue desk chair
Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments when required
Ability to visually tolerate prolonged exposure to computer screens, mobile phone screens
Reading documents and materials in hard and soft copy form (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident which includes within and around locations and when required to access available exits
Having the ability to move from one location to another and around locations and when required
