This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain and transfer your Secret clearance.
Serco supports the US Airforce as a prime for their DMOC contract maintaining their defense work on training simulation exercise. Our team upgrades, maintains and manages the software that runs simulation systems to ensure the safety of the airmen and to allow them to perform their missions successfully.
You will be part of a small team of programmers that works closely with the customers and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. The team has been recognized by the Air force and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the program.
In this role, you will:

• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and deliver high-availability and performance.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycles.
• Write well designed, testable, and efficient code.
• Code, design, and implement Python, JAVA script, and C++ for Air force training exercise systems.
• Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, debugging activities and maintenance.
• Develop application codes for programs, technical designs for application development and recommend changes to improve established Python/C++ application processes.
• Identify production and non-production application issues, develop solutions, and implement necessary changes.
• Extensive DevOps experience with virtualization and familiarity with OpenShift

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An active Secret clearance.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar.
• 3 years of Python, C++, Django, and JAVA Script programming experience.
• Experience in consulting directly with military customers.
• Experience in programming for military systems.
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• The ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Additional desired experience and skills:

• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and SQLite).
• Experience in Full-Stack development and CI/CD pipeline.
