Why does the job exist?
The Sr. Social Services Coordinator / 988 Program Coordinator will:
Work with programs serving adults facing mental health and substance abuse challenges in rural and culturally diverse communities;
Ensure individuals have access to the necessary mental health and crisis services;
Deliver culturally relevant services, particularly for priority populations such as Native American, Hispanic, and Veterans;
Collaborate with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders to understand the unique challenges and develop effective solutions.
How does it get done?
The Sr. Social Services Coordinator / 988 Program Coordinator is responsible for:
Engaging in outreach efforts to raise awareness about the 988 crisis services and mental health resources available to these communities;
Forming partnerships with local mental health and substance abuse treatment providers, law enforcement, emergency responders, and other stakeholders to build a network of support for the program;
Collecting and analyzing data on the use of crisis services and the impact of interventions, and to advocate for additional resources to support communities.

Minimum Qualification
Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Family Studies/Services, Social Sciences, or Human Services and one (1) year of experience as a social work assistant and/or in social or community coordination, working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, and/or behavioral health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
