Job Description

The Senior Project Manager role in the General Contracting industry is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to ensure successful project execution while maintaining quality and efficiency.

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Will sit out of the Kansas City office.
  • Responsible for helping with staff management, operations, high profile projects, and monthly travel.
  • Will be expected to travel a couple of hours out of town for a couple days/month.
  • Will not be expected to travel full time for any reason.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and team members to align project objectives.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Address and resolve any project challenges or unforeseen issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage project documentation, reports, and updates for stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor project teams to achieve performance goals.
  • Maintain high levels of communication and collaboration across all project stakeholders.

A successful Senior Project Manager should have
  • Proven expertise in construction project management within the General Contracting industry.
  • Expected to have experience at the Senior Project Manager or Project Director level.
  • Experience with people management.
  • Large project experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to construction.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
