Your Opportunity

We are looking for a talented Senior Project Manager to join our team! The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-starter with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Organization, time management, attention to detail and accuracy are essential to this role. This position will function within a matrix management organization, and you must be able to take on various project work from multiple sources, prioritize accordingly, and communicate workload to direct manager.

Your Key Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of following the Stantec Project Management (PM) Framework in conjunction with the Program Project Manager, in addition to understanding and adhering to various internal policies and processes.

Serve as a senior project independent reviewer (PIR) within the program quality review process.

Assist client-based Program Project Managers with project set-ups, coordinating schedule and budget development and issuance to Project Accountants and Project Controls staff for internal set-up requirements.

Provide direct governance and oversight of Project Managers and Project Independent Reviewers (PIR) to ensure best Earned Value Management (EVM) practices and controls are being implemented consistently.

Work in conjunction with the Project Accountant and client-based Project Manager to complete the process for job set-up, budget maintenance, change order processing, invoicing and accounts receivable collections, payables per accounting and Stantec PM Framework requirements.

Lead monthly project update review process including PM preparation and submission of accurate estimates at completion (EACs), and PIR review and approval of project updates, including EACs, using the designated project management tools in accordance with Stantec\'s project update business rules.

Complete monthly financial reporting and forecasting following Stantec PM Framework requirements.

Review project contracts to pull pertinent project information for invoicing, insurance requirements and confidentiality, assist PM\'s in ensuring all necessary documentation is saved to the project files and kept up to date, and coordinate with project team to ensure they are aware of terms.

Participate in the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts and amendments.

Provide guidance to PMs for project initiation activities such as Oracle setup, intercompany agreements, and sub-contracting.

Assist Project Managers with project monitoring & controlling processes, including develop and manage data trackers, update change and issue logs, and other project related support duties as assigned.

Candidate will be required to follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Passion for excellence, continuous improvement, and professional project management.

Recent experience managing projects, including the development of scope, schedule, and budget, and the subsequent monitoring of cost and schedule.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external customers.

Ability to work with distributed teams in multiple locations in United States and Canada using company tools for teleconferencing, and videoconferencing.

Able to handle ambiguity and drive things to completion with minimal oversight.

Possess strong organization skills, have the capacity to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently while demonstrating ability to prioritize workload.

Possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including understanding of pivot tables, data analysis functions, and use of formulas.

Basic understanding of scheduling principles and software, or desire to learn.

Possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word (all word processing functions: formatting, macros, styles, etc.).

Knowledge of SharePoint (managing a site, utilizing the site to its fullest capabilities).

Education and Experience

7 years\' experience in project support, preferably in engineering, design, environmental or construction industry.

Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, project management or other applicable field.

PMP Certification preferred.

Salary Range(s):

110,000.00 - 165,000.00 (CA, CO, WA locations only)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

  • Washington state employees are eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked except for Seattle employees who accrue sick leave in accordance with the city\'s paid sick leave law.
