About Repair The World New York
Repair the World provides volunteers with an increased connection to meaningful service and learning as a Jewish value, deepening their connection to Jewish community and peoplehood, building capacity for nonprofit partners by meeting pressing needs to meet their missions, and building bridges across lines of difference.
Repair the World New York launched in 2015, engages 5,000 participants a year, and works with over 75 service and Jewish organizational partners. Repair New York offers the Service Corps, ambassadors program and ongoing volunteering opportunities for teens, young adults and families.. Through pairing service with Jewish learning, Repair provides an entry-point to Jewish life for Jewish young people who may not be traditionally engaged with the broader Jewish community.
Position Overview
New York Repair is seeking a dynamic Senior Program Associate to support the planning and facilitation of meaningful Jewish service learning programs for families, teens, and young adults. The Senior Associate will facilitate Repair's Service Corps and engage our broader Jewish community in one-off service and learning events in partnership with Jewish communal and service partner organizations.
Repair's programming mobilizes teens, families and young adults to meet community needs through service. Participants serve with local partners providing direct services, learning about social change and local context for their service, and engaging with Jewish wisdom in community through regular learning sessions with their peers. Through pairing service with Jewish learning and values, New York Repair provides an entry-point to Jewish life for Jewish folks who may not be traditionally engaged with the broader Jewish community.
The successful candidate will be an aspiring experiential Jewish educator, community builder, flexible self-starter and a strong facilitator. They excel at building relationships with individuals and can speak passionately about the intersection of service, social change, and Jewish values.
This is a full-time exempt position. The Senior Program Associate will report to the Senior Director, New York Region.
Position Responsibilities
Teen & Family Programming

• Partner with the Senior Director, New York Region to implement a strategic calendar of service opportunities that meet partner and participant needs.
• Facilitate Jewish service learning for teens and families, integrating local social issues, Jewish values, volunteering, and reflection.
• Lead quarterly large-scale teen service days and 2-5 recurring family programs per month in partnership with synagogues and community organizations.
• Engage families around key Jewish and national service holidays (MLK Weekend of Service, 9/11 Day of Service, Sukkot, Hanukkah, Tu B'Shevat, Purim, Passover, Shavuot).
• Recruit, train, and support 2-3 Jewish Service Ambassadors (parents or educators) to mobilize families for ongoing participation.
• Manage logistics and materials for all programs.

Service Corps

• Recruit and oversee operations of 2-3 cohorts of corps members per year with the goal of corps members becoming integrated with their service partners, connected to Jewish community, and reaching their volunteer goals.
• Support New York Repair's Bridge Building Service Corps cohorts, led by partner organizations, that focus on cross-community dialogue and service. Identify, build, and sustain existing and new relationships with local Jewish organizations, civic and nonprofit partners for corps member placements.
• Coordinate and facilitate learning for corps members about local social issues, Jewish values and the skills needed to build Jewish service learning programs.

Additional Responsibilities

• Coordinate and collaborate with Repair the World's staff across the country, to share skills and resources and maintain program alignment.
• Support marketing and communications efforts through content collection for our community newsletters and social media, including capturing photos and stories from service programming.
• Complete office and administrative responsibilities, and other needs that arise.
• Attend external events in support of partners and community.
• Input timely and accurate data in Salesforce upon completion of programs.

• Program Design Skills: Experience with designing and executing programs that align with our vision, with the flexibility to adapt to community needs while focusing on Jewish learning and social impact.
• Growth Mindset and Resilience: Shows resilience and a capacity for empathy, ready to adapt to new challenges and learn from them. Approaches problems with a solution-oriented attitude, eager to embrace opportunities for growth and improvement.

Requirements:
1+ years of Experience: Including a track record of:

• Experience facilitating Jewish learning and/or service experiences for youth, families, or adults.
• Ability to plan and execute community programs from concept to implementation
• Comfort using standard technology tools (Email, G-Suite, etc.) and learning new systems (Salesforce, Monday, Slack, etc.)
• Strong communication, organization and self-management skills

Flexible Schedule: Availability to facilitate evening and weekend programs based on the needs of partners' and participants' varying schedules.
Live and work in NYC: Our work requires an in-the-community approach for our impact to be authentic and meaningful. Our city staff live and volunteer in the community in which they work and serve. The person in this role will work most days in the community or in our Crown Heights office.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation at Repair the World is based on the salary band for the role and cost of living for the location. The starting salary range for this full-time exempt role is $66,000-$70,000 with 1 year of experience. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation, sick time, personal days and holidays. Employer covers 100% of full-time employee's health premiums (medical/dental/vision) for most plans and 50% for dependents. Additional benefits include, retirement matching, professional development funds, employer-paid short and long term disability coverage plus access to the Jewish Learning Collaborative and our Economic Access Fund. In addition, employees that have been with Repair for at least six months are eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave (pro-rated for employees with Repair less than 6 months).
This position is included in Repair's staff union-represented collective bargaining unit and specific terms and conditions of employment may be subject to a future collective bargaining agreement between Repair the World and the Repair the World Workers' Union.
