About Repair The World New York
Repair the World provides volunteers with an increased connection to meaningful service and learning as a Jewish value, deepening their connection to Jewish community and peoplehood, building capacity for nonprofit partners by meeting pressing needs to meet their missions, and building bridges across lines of difference.
Repair the World New York launched in 2015, engages 5,000 participants a year, and works with over 75 service and Jewish organizational partners. Repair New York offers the Service Corps, ambassadors program and ongoing volunteering opportunities for teens, young adults and families.. Through pairing service with Jewish learning, Repair provides an entry-point to Jewish life for Jewish young people who may not be traditionally engaged with the broader Jewish community.
Position Overview
New York Repair is seeking a dynamic Senior Program Associate to support the planning and facilitation of meaningful Jewish service learning programs for families, teens, and young adults. The Senior Associate will facilitate Repair's Service Corps and engage our broader Jewish community in one-off service and learning events in partnership with Jewish communal and service partner organizations.
Repair's programming mobilizes teens, families and young adults to meet community needs through service. Participants serve with local partners providing direct services, learning about social change and local context for their service, and engaging with Jewish wisdom in community through regular learning sessions with their peers. Through pairing service with Jewish learning and values, New York Repair provides an entry-point to Jewish life for Jewish folks who may not be traditionally engaged with the broader Jewish community.
The successful candidate will be an aspiring experiential Jewish educator, community builder, flexible self-starter and a strong facilitator. They excel at building relationships with individuals and can speak passionately about the intersection of service, social change, and Jewish values.
This is a full-time exempt position. The Senior Program Associate will report to the Senior Director, New York Region.
