Why does the job exist?



The Senior Pharmacy Technician will:



Assist the pharmacy department in expanding access to care for members, improve quality of care and maintain program integrity within the pharmacy department.



How does it get done?



The Senior Pharmacy Technician is responsible for:



Reviewing prior authorizations for appropriate Medicaid eligibility and completeness prior to pharmacist review;



Evaluating and responding to member concerns;



Updating public facing materials for the pharmacy department (i.e. website) ;



Creating, maintaining and collaborating with Health Care Authority (HCA) Data and Analytics department of quality reports;



Developing innovating system upgrades to be used in New Mexico Medicaid's pharmacy benefit administration system.

Minimum Qualification



Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician as issued by the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above registration requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements



Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.



Must obtain and maintain defensive driving certification.

Working Conditions



Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage.
