Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to join our dynamic team at STG Mortgage. In this role, you will play a crucial part in evaluating loan applications and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional service while promoting a culture of success.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze mortgage loan applications to assess risk and ensure compliance with company policies. Conduct thorough financial analysis and risk assessment for each application. Collaborate with loan officers and other team members to gather necessary documentation. Make informed underwriting decisions based on established guidelines and criteria. Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations for loan approvals or denials. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to maintain compliance. Participate in training sessions to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Proven experience as a mortgage underwriter, preferably in a senior role. Strong understanding of financial concepts, risk analysis, and loan processing procedures. Ability to manually underwrite a loan without an AUS Excellent mathematical skills with attention to detail. Ability to analyze complex financial data effectively. Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients. Familiarity with financial modeling techniques is a plus.
