General Overview

The Senior Learning Technologist (SLT) is an essential role focused on the consultation, assessment and development of solutions to local learning needs for the Brigham entities. This individual will work closely with Brigham leaders, departments, local HR Business Partners, OMCOSS, and DE&I team members in consultation with MGB HR COEs to manage and execute learning initiatives. The SLT will also provide advanced project management guidance, oversight and support of HR projects.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Learning Consultant

Consultation, assessment, and development of solutions to local learning needs

  • As part of the local HR team and Human Capital Planning process, partner on local learning and organizational development initiatives.
  • Provide expertise and support to HR Business Partners.
Instructional Design

Develop world class learning materials
  • Design and develop digital learning (multimedia and web-based using e-learning authoring tools) in-house or with external vendors using the most effective delivery methods.
  • Design learning for both physical and virtual classroom environments.
  • Build meaningful engagement and interactivity in a variety of learning environments.
  • Architect programs that include techniques for increasing online collaboration, active and simulation-based learning activities.
  • Guide SMEs in evaluating current teaching methods and tools to encourage improvements in teaching effectiveness, delivery technologies, and instructional materials.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training delivery, post training skills assessments, and practical application exercise.
Learning Technology

Manage digital content strategy & delivery platforms
  • Partner with MGB HR COEs and Corporate Information Technology teams to improve administration of LMS.
  • Engage instructional design processes and implement best practices to ensure the quality and consistency of multi-modality educational materials for participants.
  • Research and curate content from multiple sources including third party and the public domain.
  • Leverage Learning Management System (LMS) to publish, manage and track learning solutions.
Project Management

Provide Project Management Leadership
  • Develop, oversee, and maintain ongoing project management tracking across the Brigham and HR department.
  • Support special projects for senior leadership to promote strategic initiatives both internal and external to the department. Including the development of communication plans to key stakeholders to ensure strong coordination and information flow.
  • Support change management efforts by applying content expertise related to the initiatives, to move key initiatives forward.
  • Leverage project templates designed to enhance department/service effectiveness and efficiency. (This could involve organizational change management, staffing models, process flows, project plans, etc.).
  • Participate in governance for the learning function, including serving on learning community committees, etc.
Data Analytics & Reporting
  • Able to work with and analyze quantitative data, within area and scope of responsibility; comfortable with ambiguity.
  • In conjunction with senior leadership and HR Analytics, support the reporting and analytics strategy for the HR department.
  • Develop key performance indicators for the department, as well as processes and systems to ensure real time tracking of target goals
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience, degree preferred in Instructional Design or a related field.
  • Experience with instructional design for adult learners, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience working as a Project Manager, ideally in healthcare or Human Resource
  • Ability to build cross organizational relationships to drive learning mandates.
  • Experience with online learning environments, supporting face to face, online, blended, and self-directed modalities. BWH currently utilizes HealthStream for its LMS, but preferably experience should not be limited to this platform.
  • Familiarity with Content Management, Learning Management systems and other applicable standards.
  • Competence in hardware/software selection, multimedia production, web authoring/design.
  • Courseware development in HTML, web authoring, desktop publishing and other applications (Adobe Professional, Lecetora, Articulate, etc.)
  • Competence with various social media tool for educational purposes.
  • Ability to carry out position with a high degree of autonomy, customer service, communication, teamwork and timeliness.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and follow through until resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, work independently and collaborate with team member.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills
