Senior It Director

Northampton, MA, United States

Job Description

Are you a hands-on technology leader who loves mentoring a team, solving problems, and keeping systems running smoothly - even when the technology isn't cooperating?
We're looking for a Senior Director of Information Technology who's driven, smart, and humble - someone who leads with confidence, teaches with patience, and keeps a sense of humor when things get hectic.
In this role, you'll work closely with the CIO to guide and strengthen ServiceNet's technology operations.
You'll oversee:

  • Networks, Wi-Fi, and infrastructure systems
  • Mobile device management and telecom operations
  • Security systems, including access control and cameras
  • Conference room technology and video conferencing setups
Together, these systems support over 120 sites connected through a wide-area network (WAN/LAN) - ensuring that staff, programs, and data stay connected across the organization.
You'll also lead by example, fostering a team that:
  • Values learning, growth, and collaboration
  • Takes pride in doing great work without taking themselves too seriously
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where people help each other and keep things running smoothly every day
Because we operate in a healthcare and human services setting, this role also requires a strong understanding of data security, compliance, and HIPAA regulations - ensuring all systems meet the highest standards for privacy and protection.
Minimum Requirements
  • Deep, hands-on IT experience-from infrastructure to mobile devices and security systems
  • Proven experience managing multi-site WAN/LAN environments across 100+ locations
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a people-first approach
  • Excellent communication and collaboration-the kind that builds trust across departments
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT, compliance, and HIPAA standards
  • A grounded leadership style: driven, smart, and humble
Perks & Benefits:
  • Comprehensive health and dental insurance
  • Generous paid time off
  • 403(b) retirement plan with employer match
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Paid life insurance & long-term disability coverage
  • Tuition assistance and advancement opportunities
  • A collaborative, mission-driven culture that values both excellence and humanity
If you can balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day execution - and still laugh when technology tests your patience - we'd love to meet you!

I grew up on a farm, showed dairy cows when I was in high school, studied Animal Science at Smith Voc, and worked on several farms raising llamas, goats and alpacas before I came to Prospect Meadow. And I've since learned at least as much from the farm hands as I have brought to them. They are an incredible group of caring, curious, nurturing people who always want to know how I am, how my dog is; and they are eager to learn what I share with them about farming. They've taught me how to communicate very specifically, to include important details, and to check to make sure I've been understood-not just to assume. And they've taught me how to slow down, take a breath, think.

I know from personal experience what a positive difference shelter programs can make in people's lives. After my wife and I 'graduated' from ServiceNet's family shelter, I knew this was the work I wanted to do. I treat people the way they should be treated, and that all starts with respect. The people I work with are adults; no matter where they came from, I don't judge. I listen, let them know they can trust me. And it's that relationship that can make all the difference as people start getting their lives back together.

I bring my values into play in the work I do here at the clinic-in the connections I make with clients and with others on our team. It's important to me to use my skills in a way that can make a difference in the world. Witnessing a client achieve their personal goal or face a challenge that had seemed insurmountable is the joy for me. As is being part of a team where our leaders encourage us to balance productivity with personal growth, building relationships, and slowing down enough to express appreciation. This work can be hard, and we all do it better when we feel valued.

When parents have a child who is born with a delay or disability, I offer them ways to observe, play with, and engage their child as we discover what's possible. And I encourage them to give it some time. These are the same approaches I've shared with parents here at REACH and in Nigeria when I went back to work with the government there on developing Early Intervention services. Parents are parents anywhere you go. My job is to help them help their child, advocate for their child, and move forward on this journey.
